A study app is not the GED® test: what to check before booking

Practice can help you work on skills. But a study-app score is not an official test score. Before you book a test, check which tool you used and what its result means.

Use practice for studying

FinishHigh is an independent study tool. Its public pages describe short missions, explanations and mistake review. Those descriptions are not evidence of official approval or a passing result.

Finishing a mission does not award a diploma. An app readiness label does not replace an GED Ready® report. Use practice to decide what to study next—not to claim you qualify for an exam.

Use official resources for booking

Use GED.com ↗ to check registration, testing fees, age rules, identification and other requirements for your location. Testing options and rules can vary. Do not rely on an old price list or a social post when deciding whether to book.

Check online-testing requirements separately

The official online-testing page ↗, checked on October 17, 2026, says testers need a computer, webcam, reliable internet, a suitable private workspace, and government-issued identification.

It also states that testers need a green GED Ready result within the last 60 days for each subject they want to test online. The page says online testers must be physically in the United States. Availability and age requirements depend on location.

These are dated summaries, not permission to book. Read the current official page and your official account instructions before scheduling. Do not assume online testing is available worldwide or that FinishHigh can grant eligibility.

Ask these questions before you book

  • Have I checked the current official rules for my location?
  • Do I meet the age and identification requirements?
  • If testing online, do I meet the official readiness and system requirements?
  • Do I understand fees, retake rules and cancellation terms?
  • Am I relying on an official result rather than a study-app estimate?

Give each tool the right job

Use independent resources for practice. Use official resources to confirm testing and registration requirements. If you need teaching support, a qualified adult-education program may help.

See FinishHigh's study approach. FinishHigh is independent and does not guarantee passing, provide official testing, or issue the credential.
