What FinishHigh saves.

Information students enter

FinishHigh stores account name, email, password hash, onboarding answers, study goals, question answers, mistakes, XP, streaks, progress, writing attempts, student-entered GED Ready scores, saved resource links, self-entered deadlines, planning notes, school-and-aid plans, and Paddle-confirmed subscription and transaction records.

Free diagnostic and plan emails

The free practice diagnostic checks your answers but does not save them. If you choose "Email me my plan" and tick the consent box, FinishHigh saves only your email address, the date you agreed and the consent wording version. We use it only to send your study plan, we do not sell it, and we do not send emails yet. Ask hello@finishhigh.com to delete it at any time.

Study tips newsletter

If you type an email address and tick the box that says “Send me free GED® study tips from FinishHigh. Unsubscribe anytime.”, FinishHigh saves that address, the time you agreed, the page you used, an unsubscribe token, and whether the signup is active. The box starts unchecked. We do not send newsletter email yet. A page with your token lets you unsubscribe, and that page does not show the address. We do not sell it.

How the information is used

The app uses saved information to keep you logged in, choose study steps, track progress, explain mistakes, and keep your planning records across devices. Authorized FinishHigh owners can review accounts, progress, subscription status and invoices to operate and support the service.

Progress emails

If you say yes, FinishHigh emails you once a week with how much of each subject you have finished and one next step. We send it through an email service (Resend). We share only your name, email, and the email itself with that service. Every email has a one-click link to stop. You can also turn it off on your Profile page.

Passwords

Passwords are not stored as plain text. The app stores a password hash. Logged-in students can change their password from Profile.

Automated Coach

The Coach is automated software, not a person. When AI explanations are turned on, missed question details may be sent to the AI provider to create a simple explanation. The app should avoid sending unnecessary personal information.

Payments (Paddle)

Paid memberships are sold through Paddle.com, our online reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your name, email, country, card or other payment details and tax information at checkout, under Paddle's own privacy policy (paddle.com/legal/privacy). FinishHigh receives and stores only Paddle customer and subscription IDs, the plan, renewal and cancellation dates, confirmed transaction amounts and statuses, and refund amounts. FinishHigh never receives or stores card numbers, security codes, bank details, FAFSA documents or government IDs.

Anonymous usage analytics

FinishHigh counts which pages are visited and which study steps people use. These events do not include your name, email, or account ID. The events are signup started, signup completed, a pricing or checkout click, a lesson started, practice started, a video played, Try this next clicked, and a newsletter signup. Query strings that could hold an email, name, or token are removed before a page view is sent. Vercel Web Analytics, when that feature is turned on, does not use cookies. You can still use FinishHigh if your browser blocks analytics.

Google Analytics cookies

If you choose Accept, FinishHigh loads Google Analytics 4. Google may store cookies named _ga and _ga_* (a cookie whose name starts with _ga_). Those cookies help count return visits from this browser. Google Analytics can receive the page address, a general area derived from the IP address, browser and device type, and the same anonymous study events listed above. It does not receive your name, email, or account ID. Advertising storage stays off, because FinishHigh does not use Google ads. Google's privacy policy describes how Google uses analytics data.

How long analytics data is kept

How long Google Analytics keeps event data is the GA4 property retention setting. The default is 2 months. It can be changed to 14 months. The _ga and _ga_* cookies can stay in the browser for up to two years, until you reject cookies or clear them, whichever comes first.

Your cookie choice

A banner offers Accept and Reject with the same size and the same emphasis. FinishHigh stores that choice in this browser so it can remember it. Google Analytics does not load until you Accept. Reject keeps it off and does not set _ga or _ga_* cookies. You can change the choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer. You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Service providers we use

We share only what each provider needs to run FinishHigh: Paddle.com (checkout, payments, tax, receipts and refunds; Merchant of Record); Vercel (website hosting, and Web Analytics that does not use cookies when that feature is turned on); Google (Google Analytics 4, only after you Accept); our database host (stores your account and study data); Zoho Mail (when you email us); and, only if AI explanations are turned on, OpenAI (receives missed-question details to write an explanation, without your name or email). We do not sell your personal information.
