Step 1: Pick your first subject

Take a short practice check across all four subjects. Start with the subject you are closest to passing, so you can finish one test and build momentum, or with the one your goal needs first.

Step 2: A sample study week

Keep each session to a size you can repeat, such as 20 to 30 minutes. Move on when the practice questions on a skill feel steady.

  • Monday to Thursday: one skill a day. Read a short lesson, then do 5 to 10 practice questions.
  • Friday: go back over the questions you missed this week.
  • Saturday: a short mixed review of everything from this subject so far.
  • Sunday: rest, or plan next week's skills.

Step 3: Check, then book

When a subject feels steady, try the GED Ready® practice test for it. Then check your state's price and rules and schedule that one test. Repeat for the next subject.
